QB off

There must be something funny in the stars for former staff of Bradford's-Pennine-Radio-who-also-have-an- Honorary-Doctorate-from-Bradford-University.

Regional tv presenter Christa Ackroyd is following Roger Mosey out of Auntie. She's been off the screens of Look North for more than three months, yet still on the payroll. This morning the parting was made formal. Christa, along with Carol Vorderman, was one of Richard Whiteley's "Quality Birds" when she presented the ITV rival Calendar. She joined the BBC team in 2001, and was reported to be on a salary of £150k p.a.

Shipley MP Philip Davies, a member of the Commons’ culture, media and sport select committee, has taken an interest in the case, writing to Lord Hall about it last month. Expect him to bring it up next Wednesday.
