Churning

The BBC has advertised for a Director of Strategy, to report to the Director of Strategy and Digital, James Purnell. This must be confusing for John Tate, currently still billed as Director of Strategy and Policy on most BBC sites, a role combined with chairing the BBC's Studios and Post-Production business.

John has also occasionally been described as Group Director, Strategic Operations.

We've ruminated before on whether or not there's room for historically-blue John framing the BBC's future under historically-red Jim. Maybe the comms team can help ? There, Paul Mylrea, former Comms boss, is finally moving off the BBC books, after minding something called the Stakeholder Engagement Plan, for a berth at Cambridge University. Julian Payne is acting, and acting these days seems to be a good sign.

In other jobs advertised, we note News is looking for a Director of Marketing and Audiences, where websites say Sanjay Nazerali is in the post.
