Lend Lease have been appointed to refurbish Stage 6 of Television Centre, as a new home for BBC Worldwide. Stage 6 used to be the bi-media home of news, with the curved reception fronting on to Wood Lane.
It's an eighteen-month contract, and there's clearly a little bashing around of the structure required: "The main feature of the project will be a new lightwell, with a bespoke ribbon-like staircase running through the middle of the building". Ah, how those worldwide creatives love that bespoke, ritzy look. Does Lord Patten know ?
