Taking care

It's still interim festival time at the BBC. Paul Dempsey, Managing Director of Consumer Products at BBC Worldwide, will be interim CEO "until incoming CEO Tim Davie’s arrival next year".

Paul, a Manchester United fan, came via Liverpool University, sales at Mars, and work at Frontline, which used to be the distribution partner for BBC Magazines. He joined Worldwide in 1998, and had a spell at the Kellogg School of Management, in Evanston, just north of Chicago.

He hasn't entirely mastered Twitter.

  • The announcement of Paul's elevation makes no mention of the title bestowed upon him by the former CEO John Smith, of President of BBC Worldwide High Growth Markets. Presumably that re-structuring is on hold.
