Waving

The BBC is slowly putting damp finger-tips round the medium-wave candles of local radio, arguing that 1) no-one has noticed and, 2) no-one cares.

I do. The Scouse diaspora along the North Wales coast does. If, say, you have a base between Conwy and Llandudno, there was a chance, upstairs, with the tranny held in the right direction, of Everton commentary on Radio Merseyside's 202 mw transmitter burning electricity in Wallasey, just about reaching the area covered by the black dotted line. FM, in buff, doesn't do it.  DAB in the area won't ever get it; it doesn't yet even offer Radio Wales.  (That's not a request, by the way)

  • I am informed that "north east Wales" will get BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru, 107.6 Juice FM, Real Radio and Dee 106.3 on DAB from the end of next month.  Thanks to @MuxCoWCL.
