Only 22 days to the inaugural World Food Championships in Las Vegas - though some might question the "World" bit.

The organisers have invited the winners of a range of smaller competitions to be entrants. They include the West Virginia Roadkill Cook Off, the Bays English Muffin Top This Pizza Challenge Recipe Contest, and Phillips Foods Ultimate Crab Challenge.

Entries from the UK will not, at this stage, feature Nigellissima or Nigel "Simpering" Slater. If they take up the challenge, British cuisine will be represented by the winners of the Jus-Rol British Pub Pie Championship and the Crock Pot UK Crocktober Competition.
