Meanwhile, let's review the field for the vacancy as Channel 4 News editor. The Guardian's shortlist needs updating; John McAndrew, Sky News associate editor is apparently a non-runner.  One perhaps to add is Debbie Rayner, who runs CNN's operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She was foreign editor at C4 News for the five years up to 2008.
