"Operations" is the new black at the BBC. Lucy Adams morphed from Director of People (HR to you and me) and a seat on the Executive Board, to Director of Business Operations and no seat on the Executive Board. Now it seems John Tate, previously Director of Policy and Strategy (according to March Executive Board minutes) has morphed into Group Director, Strategic Operations (according to April Executive Board minutes).
A Google search for BBC Strategic Operations reveals that this department, despite DQF issues, is a recruiting part of the BBC.
