The Niehaus Phenomenon

I'm grateful to the BBC's Nigel Smith (see post and comment below) for explaining that the Lennie Niehaus Phenomenon is a problem across the organisation's online music resource. Some bizarre synaptic leap in the database replaces the words Bing Crosby with our Lennie's monicker. Even a programme as important as the Chris Evans Boxing Day Breakfast Show (Richard Allinson sitting in) apparently featured Lennnie performing White Christmas (which we don't think has ever happened).

Still, in an effort to bring Lennie's genuine work to a wider audience, may I point out that the Pontiac Municipal Band will be performing his Brass Espanol as part of their free summer concert this evening ? The concert starts at 7pm, on the north side of the Livingston County Courthouse in downtown Pontiac. Members of the Evenglow Inn Trotters will be selling barbecue, hot dogs, chips, pie, lemonade and bottled water from 5 to 7pm.

Youtube doesn't offer a recording of Brass Espanol, but here's Lennie's quartet for tuba, called Brass Tacks.
