Colleagues have urged me to note another little slice of World Service history, with the first English language output of the news team coming from the Giant Newsroom of The Future in of new Broadcasting House at 1000am this morning. The first live voice was Dan Damon.
The last English bulletin from Bush House will be at midday on Thursday 12th July. Mark Thompson has already recorded a message for it - and it's entirely possible, with a following wind, that they can get most of the "errrs" out of it before transmission.
