Collective thinking

A thorough job interview tests candidates on the key competencies required in the role. Lord Patten and Diane Coyle clearly had this in mind in their two-hour sessions with would-be DGs. Here are the requirements on "change leadership".

  • Candidates will have initiated and delivered the transformation of a business or a division
  • They will have an appetite for change and know the challenges of developing existing talent and building new capabilities
This seems to have delivered a question couched, roughly, as "Why has the BBC Executive been so frightened about taking on the unions ?"   Will this googly re-appear in the final interviews ?
