Inside Out

And here are some more odds and ends from the "final" Delivering Quality First review by the BBC Trust....

"Inside Out", the weekly half-hour regional opt-out currently scheduled on Mondays after The One Show, retains 11 separate editions, and "most" shows will have their own individual lead story, though secondary items might be shared across a wider transmission area. This reduces to overall cut from 40% to 20%.  This makes more sense for a show which cumulatively gets higher ratings than Panorama.

At Radio 3, there's a little light saving on musicians' fees, with more of the evening live performances featuring chamber pieces, quintets and quarters, etc rather than full symphony orchestras.  And continuing on that front, we are told, gnomically, that plans for savings in the Orchestras and Singers are now expected "in the summer".

On BBC1, the daytime summaries are axed.

More and more stations are instructed to take Radio 5 Live overnight - while Radio 5 Live is told to spend less on its overnight service. Duh.

Readers will be delighted to know that there are no plans to reduce content spend on BBC Alba.
