There's a distinct lack of gleeful BBC tweets about audience figures for The Voice this morning. It looks like last night's show peaked at 5.6m, compared with 11.4m for the final of Britain's Got Talent. And presenter Clemency Burton-Hill is pretty pleased with 1m viewers for the semi-final of BBC2's Young Musician, twittering thus: I know a million is paltry compared to #bgt and #thevoiceuk but with fractional budgets, zero publicity/trails + classical music, it's mega !
Tonight, The Voice results has a clearer run, against Emmerdale. Next week, ITV offers the Champions League Final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich (k.o is 7.45pm). There may be many a tussle for the remote control, as The Voice finishes at 8.00pm.
