Alba gu bràth

From the latest minutes of the BBC Trust: "The National Trust member for Scotland noted the strong audience figures for the Gaelic-language service BBC Alba which, in October, had met its reach target of 500,000 people".

Apart from the inelegant styling of the gentlemen's title (Bill Matthew's is more properly known as The Trustee for Scotland), this news doesn't seem to have been shared with the public until now.  It would also be useful to know how the figure was calculated; in the past, Scottish polling firms have been recruited for this apparently specialist task. The Trust should ask Mr Matthews for the service (which has replaced most BBC Network Radio stations on Freeview in the evenings north of the border) to become part of the BARB panel.  Good enough for S4C.
