We're at the end of the autumn season for regional current affairs programme Inside Out on BBC1. Except for a few areas, next week's slot will feature a compilation of best bits from around the country. Under DQF, there will be four English variants of Inside Out, rather than 11.
My data, mined from Digital Spy, is incomplete, as sometimes they miss full overnight ratings. But, on what I have, Panorama beat the combined Inside Out team only twice in the season. First with Richard Bilton's report Cops Behaving Badly, which highlighted the number of resignations that seemed to avoid disciplinary proceedings; and then with Sophie Raworth's much trailed trawl round supermarket's "special" offers.
