Gorn

"Migration", as the BBC likes to call it, is complete for Radio 5 Live. Normally, you head to a warmer, sunnier climate for the winter - and, at 9am BBC Weather for Manchester (it doesn't respond to Salford) reported 9C with sunny intervals, while Shepherds Bush (which BBC Weather DOES recognise) had grey clouds and 8C.

Overnight, Up All Night, Morning Reports and 5Live Breakfast made their Salford debuts today. Former 5Live afternoons editor Simon Waldman, now with the News Channel, offered this snap of the deserted London operation.

To keep the moving mood cheerful, Telegraph writer Neil Midgley has done the maths on redundancies for those moving to Salford from all parts of the BBC. 110 will face post closures, with 60 of those coming from the News division. Though on the brighter side, he repeats assurances from Peter Salmon that suggest all could be resettled within MediaCityUK - as 1,000 more posts are heading in that direction.
