Get a grip

It's not very joined up at the moment in the BBC.  Peter Salmon celebrates an outreach project with Bob Mortimer in the "North" that finds new scriptwriters for Shooting Stars; Bob Mortimer tweets that Shooting Stars has been cancelled. A BBC2 spokesman (why is it always anonymous for cancellations, and Controllers for commissions ?) spins that there's "less space" in the schedule. We presumably will never see The Singing Detective again until someone finds £5,000.  Mark Thompson's cuts of 20% are designed to produce £140 million for "re-investment". The Trust are consulting the Great British Public on scope cuts - meanwhile Andrew Neil has had new mugs made for The Daily and Sunday Politics as if the change is unstoppable.

One other thing looks unstoppable - a serious strike.
