Party time

The Sunday Express has discovered that the BBC has been funding some parties for people leaving the organisation - through a Freedom of Information request reviewing expenses claims.  It's not good - but for out-of-London readers, I think I should correct the hyperbole of the Express's reporting. The parties were not at "exclusive top London venues" - for a start, they let the BBC in. And, by the capital's standards, the drink and catering on offer would not have been "lavish".  Read on and judge for yourself if these establishments look "swanky" or "fashionable".
