There's a slight lull in the information flow now... Media correspondents have been briefed, but are locked in somewhere in Television Centre, and banned from tweeting until 1100am. The staff presentation is underway in TV Centre studio 6, with the awaiting audience lulled by "Price Tag" by Jessie J (how much is she being paid for The Voice ?), and "I Need a Dollar" by Aloe Blacc.
So here's the headlines so far. 1,000 more staff will be moved to offices MediaCityUK, Salford by the end of the current BBC charter - December 31 2016. Most will be "support" staff, but You and Yours producers will leave Broadcasting House to join the smaller Manchester production team in Salford. And, if he's still in the job, Islington's own Zai Bennett and the BBC3 commissioning team will be heading to the Quays in 2016.
Some more staff will be moving to Pacific Quay in Glasgow, and to Cardiff. These moves will allow the sale of not just Television Centre, but the three and half buildings on the White City site, "over the next few years".
Network features staff will be moved from the Mailbox in Birmingham, mostly to Bristol. This involves programmes like Farming Today and Countryfile. The Telegraph thinks The Archers, and drama production like Doctors will stay in Birmingham. Other twitterers have suggested radio will go to Bristol and tv to Salford.
There's clearly going to be some sort of consolidation of English local radio, with clusters offering regional sustaining services (a la commercial radio), and smaller teams inserting news output from new, smaller production offices. We won't get much further flesh on that until Helen Boaden starts her briefing at noon today.
