Twitter suggests the Glasgow Herald has an item on BBC Alba viewing figures, apparently leaked to the paper's Highland correspondent. Alba ploughs its own furrow on audience research, using Scottish market research firm TNS rather than the straightforward BARB ratings. The claim is that it reached an average of 500,000 viewers in June to September, During this time, the power of Dolly Parton was exercised, but not the Scottish Premier League, so the spin is they're hoping for better in the winter.
The Herald is behind a paywall, but not all of its archive. On its last launch, in 2008, BBC Alba attracted 600,000, without Freeview and Dolly Parton.
