This social media stuff is still proving tricky for the BBC. Radio Scotland presenter Kaye Adams, perhaps feeling heady on holiday in Tuscany, got a little upset with London mayor Boris Johnson, as she observed the riots of August, and Boris' call for tough sentences. "P*** off back to boarding school", she advised the blond moptop via Twitter, and later, "maybe he's asking his mummy what to do" went out to Kaye's 6,000 followers. The tweets have gone, and Kaye has apologised.
Kaye's return to the airwaves has been slightly delayed - she was scheduled to reappear with "Call Kaye" on August 22 - now the BBC has told The Daily Record she'll be back on September 12. “Kaye hasn’t been suspended but we’ve been having some discussions with her over the last week or so. These discussions have now concluded and we’re looking forward to her returning."
Still while Kaye's been away, the audience has been treated to high-calibre stand-ins, like Kirsty Wark, Brian Tayler and Glenn Campbell (no, not that one...). Next week, Cathy MacDonald, from the Sunday religious show and Gaelic output gets a go....
