It looks like we'll have both BBC1 and BBC2 in HD sooner than we thought. Danielle Nagler, currently running BBC HD, and puzzling over what next for 3D, is leaving the BBC. The BBC Trust will be asked to approve the showcase BBC HD Channel becoming BBC2 HD, leaving nothing for Danielle and her team of two to schedule. Nagler will leave in September to join lawyers Berwin Leighton Paisner.
Danielle joined the BBC as a trainee journalist in 1996; policy and strategy became her thing from 2001, and she eventually ran the DG's office from 2005 to 2008. Roly Keating, perhaps surprisingly, has been rolled out for the farewell quote - focusing on her "beady sense of humour and a can-do approach”.
