Dear readers,
It's late, and there is suddenly much to digest. A sort of new structure to run the BBC has emerged, associated with disclosure of staff salaries, expenses, etc. BBC North costs you, the licence-fee payer, £3.4m in senior management salaries. BBC Vision pays out £14.3m in senior management salaries. BBC Audio & Music costs you £4m in senior management salaries. The new BBC News Group pays £16.4m in salaries to senior staff. The Executive Unit runs on a miserly £15.6m. Simply running Finance at management level costs £5.8m. Future Media a mere £14.3m. And Operations £15.7m. I can't bear to add it all up.
Caroline Thomson says important work has been done in sorting this, and she's suffered too - but the audience only care about repeats.
