The Radio Times has interviewed Huw Edwards, ahead of the Royal Wedding. He says he's done his homework and reckons he ought to be able to identify the 100 top guests, but will leave many of the women to his female colleagues, because "women tend to wear big hats, so you can't see their faces".
And despite his pivotal role on the day, there are other key bits of commentary off-limits under Huw rules. "There's no way I'm going to make myself an instant expert on wedding dresses, for example. At that key moment when Kate steps from the car outside the Abbey and reveals what she's wearing, I'll be more than happy to hand over to the women on the team."
Meanwhile programme information from the BBC repeats the canard that the event will be watched by two billion viewers. World population is close to 7 billion. Half will be asleep between 1100-1200 BST. One or two of those awake will be working; some of them won't be interested - honestly. Until the BBC shows us the maths, challenge these absurd figures, as I try to do with the Piers Morgan' 300 million....
