Energy conservation

Whilst staff at the BBC will probably be distracted by Delivering Quality First stuff this week, they can expect to see more and more of Lord Patten pottering about the place, ramping up to his four days a week role as Chairman.  Not necessarily at the BBC Trust's offices in Great Portland Street - the formal handover by Sir Michael Lyons is not until the end of this month - but, in the modern way, "touching down" around Broadcasting House and Television Centre.

There may be chance for a discussion with his deputy-to-be, Diane Coyle.  Both Lord Patten and Diane are members of the EDF Stakeholder Advisory Panel.  They meet four times a year for an undisclosed fee, under the leadership of the ubiquitous Will Hutton.  Too much BBC at once ?
