iPlayer sub v licence fee
I'm a little bit twitchy about the BBC global IPlayer offer that DG Mark Thompson has promised this morning. It will be important to know what's available. If the sub is less than $10 a month, that's around £73.50 for a full year, compared with a UK licence fee which rises to £145.50 from 1 April. Can we have a rebate here, if more than two or three million Yanks subscribe ?
