Media Monkey was nearly right about the BBC's prospects of a poor haul at the RTS Journalism Awards. They can point to four gongs, but none of them bring huge direct credit to the central BBC News Machine. David Dimbleby won a Lifetime Achievement Award, but he'd much rather have beaten Jon Snow to Presenter of the Year. Panorama won the Home Current Affairs Award for Kids In Care - but it was a production by Films of Record, part of Ten Alps. International Current Affairs went to BBC2 for The Wounded Platoon - but it was made by Mongoose Pictures. And the Scoop of the Year went to BBC Northern Ireland for The Iris Robinson Investigation.
The BBC can claim a part share in the Judges' Award - which also went to the Sky News and ITN negotiators who set up the General Election Leaders' debates
