There are some very thought-provoking elements in the blog-post from Newsnight's Paul Mason, entitled "Twenty reasons why it's kicking off everywhere". He assembled the list at the behest of programme editors, to guide a discussion which never happened on the programme. I suspect there'll be pressure next week for that discussion to be re-cast - indeed, the ideas require intelligent and creative treatment to get a fair hearing. Whether or not technophobe Jeremy Paxman is the right moderator is another matter....
Meanwhile Evan Davis could do with some better briefings on world affairs, having been heard by some to refer to "speaking Egyptian" on the Today programme on Friday.
