Tales of toys and prams at Channel 4 News in the Independent. It seems to stem from a move to feature just 15 "star brands" (a mixture of presenters, correspondents and reporters) on their website. Those left out feel it's the creation of a two-tier newsroom.
Deputy editor Martin Fewell seems unabashed: "You want to promote your big TV people but there are also some people that have particular traction online. We've explained this to the team but of course it's a bit unnerving for people".
Imagine how things might shake down in the 17-tier BBC multimedia newsroom, where a cull of underperforming blogs is now long overdue.
