A number of papers, including the Daily Mail, will be looking forward to reports from an industrial tribunal due to start today, and likely to last a fortnight (unless, of course there's a late out-of-court settlement).
Reporter Miriam O'Reilly is claiming discrimination on the grounds of sex and age after she lost her job on BBC1's Countryfile - and then work on Radio 4. Witnesses are set to include former Controller BBC 1 Jay Hunt (on gardening leave en route to Channel 4), former Controller Radio 4, Mark Damazer (now feeding his brain as Master of St Peter's College, Oxford), R4 commissioner of specialist factual programmes Mohit Bakaya, File on 4 editor David Ross and executive editor of factual and learning Andrew Thorman.
O’Reilly also claims she was victimised by the corporation, saying she was blamed for a series of leaked stories at the time and subsequently "blacklisted."
