Work could soon be underway over the canal from MediacityUK: Peel have placed a tender ad for "site remediation (bioremediation and/or soil washing); localised breaking up concrete obstruction/ oversite concrete; quayside concrete repairs; incidental works" over an area of 1500m2 not far from the Imperial War Museum North, with the site to be run from Trafford Wharf Road.
Peel would love to have a new, bigger Coronation Street set there - the current version looks certain to have a damaged viaduct shortly. Nicky Campbell, Leighton Baines, Karl Henry and James Whittaker (or their sub-tenants) would have much more to see out of their flats in The Heart if the deal is done.
