Radio trip advisor

How many BBC executives will be spending the night in the Lowry Hotel tonight ? It's the first day-proper of the Radio Festival, and all delegate passes have been sold.

The key session today is Jeremy Vine at noon with DCMS minister Ed Vaizey and Digital Radio UK boss Ford Ennals.   It doesn't look like there's a speech from Vaizey, so it's unlikely that he'll help on Public Spending previews.  The day ends up with a dinner at The Monastery on the other side of Manchester, where Nicholas Parsons and Dave Lee Travis will be among the glitterati added to the Radio Academy's Hall of Fame.
Entertainment will be from the Cheshire Chord Company from Warrington.

Then it's back to Salford Quays.  They Lowry must have a conference rate (Late Rooms has space tonight at £139 for a deluxe double, rather down on the Rooney rate) but how many will try the MediacityUK Holiday Inn, currently on offer at the special rate of £69 ?
