Pay slips
So if this is right, you'd assume Peter Salmon, BBC Director, North, is going to get £300k for 2010/11.
His 2009/10 total package was £463k, but his basic was £375k. The presumption is that the additional £88k was for pension enhancement, which DG Thommo says is a thing of the past. All members of the BBC Executive Board have given up a month's salary for each of two years. That would bring Peter's basic down to around £344k. We also have to consider that Peter's no longer on the Executive, as a result of the recent re-structure. If we've got the basic right, a further 25% off that would bring it down to £258k - still healthy to many.
More likely, perhaps, that Peter's maths takes 25% off £463k, to around £348k. Even so, if Lucy Adams, Director of HR, is hanging on to £320k, despite leaving the Executive, Peter may wish he'd turned to Rooney's agent...
