Elan Closs Stephens, Professor of Communications and Creative Industries at Aberystwyth, has got the nod as BBC Trustee for Wales. She beat off another Prof - Ian Hargreaves (once of the BBC himself under John Birt), who's worked for some years leading the Cardiff School of Journalism, and has recently been appointed to the newly created Chair of the Digital Economy, allowing him to work across the Business School as well.
Earlier this year, at the behest of the Welsh Assembly, he investigated how public funds could be best used to generate jobs and wealth from media and other creative businesses. But I don't think he's yet mastered the language, so once again, the Taffia prevail...
