Can Simon Cowell succeed where the Arts Council failed ?
Probably. Current X-Factor bookies' favourite Matt Cardle has been in a number of bands, starting with Darwyn in 2005, based around Halstead in Essex; followed by the Matt Cardle Band; and then Seven Summers. In 2006, Darwyn won Arts Council funding to pay for re-recording their album, promotion, and a tour. Did you notice ? Will he pay them back ?
