The Manchester Evening News reports that the Eccles Metrolink tram service has re-started, after last night's embarassing derailment close to MediaCityUK.   The service has been coming into, and reversing out of, the Mediacity stop since Monday, as a test.   Last night it was apparently reversing close to the Harbour City stop, and points seem to have failed - the train had to be manhandled back to the lines after hitting a lamp-post.

Whatever the cause, the MediaCity tram stop is now closed for the forseeable future.
