Apologies for the gap in transmission. Failed to admit to a short break in Brittany, in order to maintain high levels of security at the Consultancy HQ.
Print journalism in France seems to be thriving, from the queues at the local bookshop/newsagent/lottery seller in Le Val Andre. And hyper-local journalism stays inky in Ouest France* and its myriad daily editions. It asks all the important questions. Why are there so many wasps this year ? Where has the sea bass gone ? Why was August wetter than July ? Why is there only one stage of the Tour De France in Brittany next year ?
*It's so local that I've been in it twice. Once, at the age of fourteen, photographed as part of a group playing table football on a campsite near St Marc-Sur-Mer - clearly big news. And then, in a short par when our tent burned down in Le Val Andre (while we we at the beach) some 25 years ago.
