This blog has previously tracked staff who've worked both for the North West Development Agency and the Peel property empire, in its various incarnations.
Now the NWDA is on its way to disbandment, at the behest of Eric Pickles, and local authorities and others are flooding him with applications to become LEPs (Local enterprise partnerships) which will distribute whatever investment the Coalition deems appropriate in the future.
So for Liverpool, we now have a proposal for a Liverpool City Region LEP, drafting in some nearby councils like Knowsley - and, lo and behold, also on board is Peter Nears, strategic planning director of Peel Holdings, who's been with the John Whittaker mothership since 1988.
