The performance of Liverpool's Fernando Torres makes headlines on may of the sports pages, reflecting comments from Jamie Redknapp that he was "fed-up, lethargic and diabolical" against Birmingham. For me, the performance of another Spaniard is also causing concern.
Cesc Fabregas was not particularly lethargic for Arsenal against Bolton on Saturday - indeed he was most people's man of the match, making three of the four Arsenal goals. But to this spectator, his body language suggested he was fed up. He was noticeably absent from the goal celebration huddles; failed to acknowledge crowd applause from the north stand at corners; and generally mooched around head down.
Sources, admittedly third hand, say he's morose in training, barely speaking to other players and certainly not to Arsene - after having to commit to another year at the Emirates before Barcelona can sort out funds to buy him (and space to play him). If it's true, this is no way for him to spend a season - and out of character with a player who won support at Highbury through commitment as well as talent.
