Speculation is growing that ITV in Manchester will move to Salford Quays after all. The well-informed Crains' site says that ITV will take all the remaining space in Phase 1 of the MediaCityUK development. And some staff may move from London. Crain's argues that the deal may have been eased by the arrival of Archie Norman, and that the departure of Peel's business development executive, Jason Leggett, was a sign of job complete, as far as Phase 1 goes.
The future of the Coronation Street outdoor set is less clear - Peel Media have previously offered to build it at Salford Quays. There's speculation it could fit next to the Imperial War Museum site, just over the bridge from The Lowry.
