Sliced

Lady Gaga's new video is out on YouTube ("Telephone ft Beyonce") and, at 9 minutes 30 seconds seems to have offset some production costs with a range of product placements. I suspect Polaroid, Virgin Mobile and dating site Plenty of Fish are happy with their investment (Bad Romance got 100 million views) but I'm puzzled about Wonderbread - real deal or irony ?

  1. First I have to congratulate you on posting about Gaga. All the best bloggers are doing it you know!
    The product placement is so incredibly blatant it's jaw dropping but that is the new post piracy economic model in music.
    The sandwich eating sequence was so pointless and retro it was almost a throw back to sponsorship in the 50s...think Madmen.
    So I'm going with irony.
    The thing about Gaga is she gets to have her cake and eat it too by satirising what she is and being what she satirises. She's a free bitch baby.
