Salford Council is thinking of opening a "cycle centre" at MediaCity. It'll offer secure parking, cycle hire, maintenance and information. Crain's reports that Manchester is further ahead with proposals for the same sort of set-up along the entrance to Piccadilly Station - the theory is that eventually people might cycle along the sides of River Irwell between the two destinations.
