BBC DG Mark Thompson, while thanking people for their (mostly hostile) comments on his blog about the Strategy review, also hints that his proposals are a package, and not to be fiddled with.
I think it's really important people do not lose sight of the fact that our plans are about safeguarding the future of the whole BBC. Because the BBC's contribution to UK culture and society is bigger than the sum of its parts.
And then suggests his blog site is really just a post box, not a place for conversation.
