Mark Damazer enjoys words. He took to the airwaves of his own network, Radio 4, to debate the pros and cons of Thought for The Day with Eddie Mair in the chair, and Jonathan Bartley, from the thinktank Ekklesia, himself a former Thought for The Day contributor. Ekklesia itself took the conversation to mean that the list of contributors might be further opened up.
Mark actually said "I don’t think it is beyond peradventure and eternal verity that it has to be faith based.” That collection of words (though not necessarily in that order) turns up in Henry V, the selected writings of John Knox, Rosicrucian pamphlets and legal commentaries on the impeachment of Bill Clinton. All of which, probably, Mark has read....
