Relief at News International: architect Amanda Levete's second set of plans for a dramatic refurb of their Wapping HQ were approved last night by Tower Hamlets councillors. Building Design says work will remain on hold until "the media market" improves. Odd - there can be fewer cheaper times to place a building contract; and many staff are already being decanted to other offices nearby in preparation.
