Little walls
While Murdoch senior and junior bluster, the Johnston Press group has bit the bullet. From next Monday, there'll be trial paywalls around online content from six weeklies - the Worksop Guardian, the Ripley & Heanor News, the Whitby Gazette, the Northumberland Gazette, and in Scotland, the Carrick Gazette and the Southern Reporter. The experiment, says Press Gazette, will last three months. No word on the pricing model, but insiders say it'll cost around 40p a week.
