Associated Press seems to be thinking about a different revenue model to monetise its web content, using time to drive a premium price. Subscribers would pay to read content, say, 20 or 30 minutes before its general release. From Press Gazette.
Speed is money to financial traders, and there are already some niche services in London specialising in getting important press releases to dealing rooms ahead of the big names like Reuters and Bloomberg.
