Keywords, the search engine optimisers tell us, are the secret to blog and website success. Peter Horrocks, in charge of the World Service at the BBC, is doing well out of "fortress journalism"(in terms of "it's on the way out.. "). A Google search for references in the past year comes up with 1,900 possibilities, most of them from journalism bloggers quoting his piece for the BBC College of Journalism last November.
However there are another 3,000 or so in the previous years - some from America in 1998 and 1999. I'm wondering who first coined the term. Meanwhile I'm piling on the bandwagon, getting my link in !
