Full pension

The Sunday Times has "discovered" that Mark Thompson and Jana Bennett (who both had spells away from the BBC) very sensibly left their pension pots with the Beeb while they were away. (It's almost as if they knew they'd come back....) Those funds add to their final pension deals, quite properly - but it's not clear why they haven't previously been declared.

Meanwhile the paper enjoys attempting to create a league table of "value" in public sector pension pots - is a retired Mark Byford worth more to the country than a retired Mervyn King ? Don't attempt to answer before lunch...
