BBC Director General Mark Thompson, who's eschewed his bonus for five years, saw his salary go up by 2% in 2008/09, from £816,000 to £834,000. How does that work ?


Sir Michael Lyons "decided" to go full time as BBC Chairman last year. I bet few on the Executive voted for that.

Golden Boy John Smith sees operating profits fall 27% year on year at BBC Worldwide - and that's before further substantial sums go on "restructuring" BBC Studios and Post Production.

Meanhwile helpful Sky tells the Glasgow Evening Times it could cover the Open with half of the 410 staff and contractors the BBC seems to need...
